Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) is a not-for-profit community organisation that holds a 10 day Festival every March. MQFF provides unique opportunities for the exhibition of high quality films from Australia and internationally that are for, by and about gay, lesbian, bisexual, same-sex attracted, transgender and intersex (queer) communities.
The Festival aims to deliver poignant and thought-provoking films that document LGBTI lives truthfully and with respect. We aim to develop and diversify the scope of film culture, as well as affirming and encouraging dialogue about queer cultures.
As a supporter of the Festival, you know the power of queer films – they remind us of who we are and who we can be; they inform and transform people inside and outside our community; they celebrate our lives and our legacy of equality and social justice for all.
MQFF depends on donations from generous individuals and organisations to continue this work. The Sweethearts annual giving Patrons Program has been developed to raise funds to enhance the Festival’s work; engaging audiences with Australia’s largest, oldest and most diverse LGBTI film festival.
As a Sweetheart Patron, you will belong to a unique group of engaged film enthusiasts with insider access to the Festival. With your support and participation, the Festival can maintain our reputation for excellence in queer film programming and presentation.
Sweetheart Patrons are the very heart of what we do and what makes our Festival great. Your support helps bring queer audiences together to collectively bear witness to films that are challenging, inspiring, entertaining and enlightening, and which can only be seen because the Festival presents them.
In appreciation of your support, you will enjoy:
* Acknowledgement in the Festival program guide and on our website.
* Priority seating and ticketing service.
* Unique opportunities to engage with Festival filmmakers, Board of Management and staff.
* Exclusive quarterly Sweethearts updates.
* Tax deductibility for your donation.
The Sweethearts Patrons Program is the MQFF’s primary means of acknowledging the generosity of Melbourne’s philanthropic community. The Festival offers seven levels of donation to choose from, ensuring a broad level of engagement and encouraging our younger supporters to take a starring role. We encourage you to join our Sweetheart Patrons Program and get closer to the heart of this wonderful Festival!
