MQFF Volunteers

VOLUNTEERING for MQFF

Volunteering is one of the key activities of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. As a non-profit community organisation the Festival relies on the amazing generosity of our lovely volunteers old and new, young and young-at-heart.

We often say that the festival would not exist if it were not for the volunteers and while in many ways this is true in a financial sense, there is definitely more to the experience than that. Melbourne Queer Film Festival prides itself on being a community destination and has a sustained reputation as a vibrant and welcoming event.

Throughout the year, and particularly during festival time, the Melbourne Queer Film Festival offers volunteer roles doing everything from helping out in the office, to working in the festival lounge and ushering patrons into the cinemas. Volunteering with MQFF is an awesome way to meet people (particularly fellow film nerds), make new friends and learn new skills. If you’re interested in working in the industry, it’s also a fantastic way to be a part of a world class event.
