‘An ambiguous, creepy study of conflicting desires and haunting pasts.’
– Sight and Sound
Rift is the queer Scandi-noir we’ve all been waiting for. Gunnar receives a mysterious phone call in the middle of the night. It leads him to a solitary house in a remote part of Iceland, the location of Gunnar’s final summer holiday with now ex-boyfriend Einar. When Gunnar locates an unsettled Einar nearby, the two attempt to reconcile. But every move they make, a threatening presence seems to haunt them. With shades of the classic thriller Don’t Look Now, Rift is a truly chilling Icelandic drama, as the startlingly desolate landscapes become a fitting location for the dark drama that unfolds. You’ll want someone’s hand to hold for this one!
