A raw and poignant coming-of-age feature by director Paloma Schneideman. Set in New Zealand in 2006, the film follows Sid Bookman, a 14-year-old girl who would seemingly rather be anyone else. The film explores Sid’s relationship with her friends, family, and self-esteem as she begins to imitate those who receive the validation and praise that she craves as she shakily navigates a summer of transformation. As the final credits roll, we’re not ready to say goodbye just yet.
